Our Neighbors
There are many ways that the people of Zion are active in and serve the surrounding
community.

Martha’s Kitchen – Martha’s Kitchen is a biweekly free lunch program that we offer to our
community. Our guests come from both Avon and the surrounding communities. We prepare a
healthy meal and our guests share food and time together as a community. Martha’s Kitchen is
hosted by members of Zion and members of the village of Avon.

The Avon Food Pantry – Zion supports the local food pantry both with our weekly donations
and with members who volunteer their time to help staff the pantry.

Avon Nursing Home – Zion helps to lead worship at the local nursing home. Area churches
take turns on a monthly schedule to offer worship at the home in our own tradition.
